e-NABLE is a global, 10 year-old network of thousands of volunteers giving free open-source 3D-printed prosthetics to children and adult amputees whose needs are not being met by conventional institutions.
EcoRestoration Alliance is a global, one year-old network of scientists, practitioners and mobilizers working to reverse climate collapse by restoring the healthy ecosystems that cool the planet and nurture its occupants. (Emissions reductions are also ultimately necessary, but they are slow-acting and will not be sufficient. Ecosystem restoration is actionable, effective, safe and fast-acting.)
- If you visit our websites, you'll see that these two networks are making a difference.
- But if you read the news, you'll see that we're not doing enough.
- If you read on, you'll see how and why you might want to help.
Consider the indigenous peoples of Papua New Guinea. They have lived in, and nurtured, one of the richest ecosystems on earth for tens of thousands of years. Listen to their song as they move through the forest, and you'll perceive something beautiful and important: they care for each other, they care for nature, and they pass meaningful lives and healthy environments to their descendants.
Sadly, they --and all of us-- now live under the shadow of social and ecological collapse, caused by policies and world-views that have gone astray. So we --each of us-needs to figure out how we can help set things right.
Nothing matters more. We need to reconnect with nature and with each other to care, and to "care for."
One way is to donate to EcoRestoration Alliance or donate to e-NABLE. Another is to forward this to your friends, urging them to do the same.
